New Delhi, Jan 31 (NationPress) Anurag Singh Thakur, a prominent BJP campaigner and former Union Minister, declared on Friday that the residents of Delhi will bring an end to the AAP government's license for corruption.
While engaging with voters, Thakur stated: "Arvind Kejriwal has allowed AAP leaders to operate freely, which has led to an unprecedented level of corruption under the AAP administration."
The ex-Union Minister highlighted that AAP, which once boasted about providing corruption-free governance, is now entangled in numerous scandals, such as those related to the Jal Board, classroom construction, liquor policy, DTC, and hawala transactions.
"From the ‘Sheesh Mahal’ (opulent official residence) to the liquor scandal, all these corrupt practices have been detailed in the CAG report," he remarked.
He addressed gatherings in Mustafabad and Ghonda Assembly constituencies.
Furthermore, he engaged in a discussion at Kirori Mal College, Delhi University, focusing on the youth's role in fostering a developed India.
Thakur encouraged first-time voters to participate and select a government focused on development for Delhi.
He reminded voters that 11 years ago, Kejriwal assured not to occupy a large residence, refrain from purchasing a car, and avoid security.
"However, he has constructed a ‘Sheesh Mahal’ by merging eight properties, drives the costliest vehicle, enjoys protection from two states, and has been implicated in various scams. Arvind Kejriwal is the embodiment of AAP's wrongdoings. This time, the people of Delhi will terminate AAP's license for plunder and usher in a BJP government committed to good governance," Thakur asserted.
He further stated: "The AAP pledged to construct schools, yet they opened liquor outlets. Once, they spoke of using a broom (their party symbol) to eradicate corruption, but now they've transitioned from ‘broom’ to ‘booze.’ They promised Swaraj (self-governance) but ended up endorsing liquor consumption."
The last decade of AAP's governance has been marred by corruption. Eight of their ministers, 15 MLAs, one MP, and even the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister have faced incarceration.
“Few governments in independent India have engaged in such extensive misdeeds. This is why it’s crucial to oust AAP,” he emphasized.
“During the Covid crisis, while citizens struggled for air, AAP leaders were entangled in the liquor scam. Their minister prioritized establishing liquor stores over building schools,” he concluded.
