New Delhi, Sep 11 (NationPress) Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Thursday a significant enhancement of the city's road infrastructure, expressing gratitude to the Central Government for the approval of Rs 803 crore for this initiative.
The Chief Minister highlighted that this financial support from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Cabinet will not only enhance road connectivity but also foster comprehensive development within the Capital.
In a statement shared on the social media platform X, she expressed, "On behalf of the entire populace of the capital, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to Prime Minister @narendramodi ji and Union Minister for Road Transport @nitin gadkariji for sanctioning this historic amount of 803 crore rupees for the advancement of Delhi's roads."
This initiative is expected to significantly bolster Delhi's road connectivity and invigorate the overall development trajectory of the capital, she noted.
CM Gupta further remarked, "With the guidance of the Prime Minister, Delhi is reaching new milestones of progress, thanks to the visionary and collaborative approach of the double-engine government. This measure will be pivotal in promoting Delhi as a prosperous, convenient, and modern capital," as she conveyed on X.
Previously, the Chief Minister organized a review meeting regarding development projects and proposals related to the Chandni Chowk Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, including the appointment of a Cabinet Minister to oversee the constituency.
The Minister-in-Charge will regularly engage with public representatives, monitor the progress of development initiatives, and address public grievances promptly. It was also resolved that responsibilities will be distributed by constituency to expedite development efforts and effectively tackle local issues.
The meeting, which took place at the Delhi Secretariat, included attendance from Chandni Chowk MP Praveen Khandelwal, MLAs, councillors from the constituency, along with senior officials from relevant departments.
During the discussions, elected officials raised various concerns from their areas, including tree pruning, park redevelopment, road and sewer maintenance, and the installation and repair of street lights.
The Chief Minister provided clear directives to officials that all development projects should commence immediately and adhere to a fixed timeline for completion.
She emphasized the necessity for close coordination among MPs, MLAs, and councillors to ensure effective execution of the projects.
CM Gupta further stressed that priorities must align with the immediate needs of citizens and serve the broader public interest.
