Mumbai, Nov 22 (NationPress) In a shocking turn of events in the Byculla locality of Mumbai, a woman has lodged a formal complaint accusing an unidentified delivery boy of persistent harassment, stalking, and threats after he sent her a series of obscene messages. The Byculla Police have officially opened a case and are actively searching for the perpetrator.

The woman, known as Parinaaz, reported that on September 23, she ordered groceries via a delivery application. At around 4 p.m., a delivery boy came to her home with the items. When he noticed some items missing, he requested her mobile number, assuring her he would arrange for a refund. The following day, he contacted her from the same number regarding the refund, and she, thinking it was a routine call, expressed her thanks before ending the conversation.

Shortly after, the accused saved her WhatsApp contact and began bombarding her with obscene messages. Despite her lack of response, the harassment did not cease; she promptly informed her husband. By September 28, the delivery boy sent more lewd messages. When her family threatened to involve law enforcement, he claimed he would block her number and return to his village.

However, on November 19, 2025, he resumed his harassment using a different number, sending her WhatsApp messages requesting to meet in private. When she demanded he cease contact, he threatened her instead. Unable to cope with the ongoing harassment and stalking, she turned to the police. Investigators have initiated inquiries, and efforts are ongoing to locate the suspect.

A similar case surfaced in South Mumbai earlier this year. On October 29, the Colaba Police apprehended a 43-year-old delivery worker for allegedly molesting an eight-year-old girl within a residential complex. An FIR was filed against the suspect at the Colaba Police Station.

The child's 35-year-old mother, who works as domestic help in Colaba, reported that the incident occurred on October 26 at approximately 7 p.m. The accused, identified as Imran Mohammad Sherkhan (43), a delivery employee from Cuffe Parade, allegedly approached the minor under the guise of seeking an address. He then inappropriately touched her, which outraged her modesty. The child promptly informed her mother, who contacted the authorities. The police acted swiftly, registering a case and detaining the suspect.

Point of View

This incident highlights the pressing need for greater accountability and safety measures in the delivery sector. As incidents of harassment and abuse continue to surface, it is imperative that authorities act decisively to protect citizens and ensure that such behaviors are swiftly addressed.
