Mumbai, March 16 (NationPress) A man from Mumbai is currently evading capture after allegedly assaulting his domestic worker in the Bangur Nagar locality of Goregaon while his family was away, according to police reports from Sunday.

The family of the 35-year-old victim lodged a complaint at Bangur Nagar Police Station on Saturday, leading to her medical examination, as stated by an official.

The 40-year-old suspect is accused of repeatedly assaulting the domestic worker over two consecutive days within the past two weeks, threatening her with physical harm if she spoke out.

Authorities have filed charges against the suspect under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which addresses offenses related to rape and intimidation.

Following the first assault, the victim was too terrified to share her ordeal with her family, as per police information.

Exploiting her silence, the accused assaulted her again the following day, taking advantage of the absence of his family members.

As an official reported, the victim did not have the strength to return to work on the third day and ultimately resigned from her part-time domestic position in the rapist's home.

On Saturday, when her family questioned her about her sudden decision to stay home and stop working, she revealed the shocking events that transpired at her employer's residence.

Consequently, her family acted swiftly to file a complaint at Bangur Nagar Police Station. The police registered the case and initiated a manhunt for the suspect.
