New Delhi, Feb 17 (NationPress) Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated on Tuesday that the India-AI Impact Summit 2026 has sparked renewed enthusiasm among the youth of the nation, emphasizing that it is India's responsibility to provide the younger generation with Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven education.
During his address at the India-AI Impact Summit 2026 in the national capital, Pradhan noted the significant excitement surrounding the event, focusing on two main themes: 'AI in Education' and 'Education in AI', which encompass everything from traditional knowledge systems to the latest technological innovations.
“The organization of the AI Impact Summit has instilled a new sense of enthusiasm in India's youth. Participants are engaging in the summit with great zeal,” he remarked.
Reiterating the government's vision, the Minister stated, “It is our responsibility to provide AI-enhanced education to the new generation of India.” He further mentioned that increasing the number of AI-skilled individuals in the country would position India toward global leadership.
Union Minister and Rashtriya Lok Dal National President Jayant Chaudhary also highlighted AI's transformative potential within the education sector.
“AI is set to have a profound and extensive impact on education. We must focus on our teachers' roles. At the institutional level, we need to rethink our academic frameworks,” Chaudhary emphasized, noting that the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, has been assigned to evaluate AI's impact on education.
V. Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, elaborated on the dual approach of 'AI in Education' and 'Education in AI'. He stated that discussions during the panel concentrated on how AI tools can improve learning outcomes.
“One critical aspect is how AI can influence education. Every child should feel free to ask any question and receive direct answers from an AI tool, leading to conceptual clarity,” he expressed.
Kamakoti pointed out that AI-driven educational resources could greatly benefit students, parents, teachers, and policymakers by enhancing accessibility, personalization, and the quality of learning.
The summit convened policymakers, academics, and technology specialists to discuss leveraging AI for the transformation of India's educational landscape.
