Disruptions on Delhi Metro's Blue Line Due to Cable Theft

New Delhi, Dec 5 (NationPress) The Delhi Metro's Blue Line encountered service interruptions on Thursday due to cable theft that took place between Moti Nagar and Kirti Nagar stations, causing significant delays for passengers.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) notified commuters about the situation via posts on X, urging them to adjust their travel plans accordingly.

"There is a delay in services on the Blue Line caused by a cable theft between Moti Nagar and Kirti Nagar. We apologize for the inconvenience," stated the DMRC.

In a follow-up post, DMRC specified that the cable theft issue would only be addressed after the metro's operational hours.

"The cable theft problem on the Blue Line between Moti Nagar and Kirti Nagar will be fixed only after services conclude at night," it mentioned in the update.

"As the trains will run at a restricted speed on the affected stretch during the daytime, there will be some delays in services," it added.

The corporation requested that travelers consider these delays, highlighting, "The journey will take some extra time."

The Blue Line is a vital and heavily utilized route within the Delhi Metro, linking Dwarka in the western part of the national capital to Noida and Vaishali in the eastern region (Uttar Pradesh).

This line services essential locations including Rajiv Chowk, Yamuna Bank, Mayur Vihar Phase 1, Noida Sector 16, and Noida Sector 18, where numerous offices are situated.

The timing of these delays coincided with morning office hours, causing inconvenience for passengers, especially those traveling to work along the Blue Line.

Efforts to return to normal operations are anticipated to commence after the metro services conclude for the day, with repairs planned during non-operational hours.
