New Delhi, Sep 16 (NationPress) The 15-day ‘Seva Pakhwada’ commemorating the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will feature numerous medical and social welfare initiatives throughout the national capital. The Delhi Medical Association (DMA) is spearheading efforts in the health sector, preparing to host a series of health check-up camps and public awareness campaigns aimed at enhancing preventive healthcare, nutrition, and the overall health of women and children.
The initiative will kick off with a Safai Abhiyan at 6:00 a.m. at Maulana Azad Medical College, followed by the organization of free medical camps across the city.
Importantly, the DMA stands as the foremost medical association in the capital, boasting a membership of over 20,000 healthcare professionals and serving as the Delhi Branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA).
DMA president Dr. Girish Tyagi remarked, "A clean environment minimizes disease transmission, bolsters immunity, and fosters a healthier living environment, particularly for women and children. To advance this vision, we are launching the Sewa Pakhwada from September 17 to October 2, 2025."
Dr. Tyagi further expressed, "The Delhi Medical Association, representing more than 20,000 doctors, congratulates PM Narendra Modi and the Health Ministry for initiating the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan on September 17, 2025."
During the Prime Minister’s birthday celebrations, the DMA, recognized by the government, will actively engage in the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan through its 20,000 members across 13 branches in Delhi. From September 13 to October 2, these branches will conduct various programs.
DMA secretary Dr. Satish Lamba noted that the DMA, alongside its 12 branches throughout Delhi, will carry out a series of free health check-up camps concentrated on women's health. These screenings will encompass hypertension, diabetes, oral and cervical cancer, anemia, tuberculosis, antenatal check-ups for children, and other specialized medical services.
Additionally, the DMA aims to establish blood donation camps, seminars, and workshops focusing on menstrual hygiene and nutrition for women, including adolescent girls.
Dr. Tyagi reiterated the medical body's strong commitment to ensuring the success of the Abhiyaan. "DMA greatly values this initiative and pledges full support to make it a triumphant endeavor. Our members are always prepared to assist and serve in every possible manner to fulfill the objectives of this Abhiyaan," he stated.
