Chennai, Dec 29 (NationPress) The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is poised to conduct a significant women's conference on Monday in Palladam, situated within Tiruppur district, serving as a crucial political mobilization effort in anticipation of the forthcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
The focus of this gathering will be on women’s empowerment and welfare, with an expected turnout of approximately 150,000 participants from 39 Assembly constituencies spanning 13 party districts.
The conference is set to be led by DMK Deputy General Secretary Kanimozhi, with Chief Minister M.K. Stalin slated to deliver a special address.
This event is part of a broader campaign strategy, following recent political activities such as the general council meeting in Madurai, a three-day festival in Karur, and a youth conference held in Tiruvannamalai.
Extensive arrangements have been implemented for the Palladam conference. Participants will receive color-coded identity cards based on their districts, and specific seating arrangements have been designated for party officials.
Although the venue is located in the western region, volunteers from across the state are mobilized to assist with logistics and coordination.
Special provisions have been made to ensure participant comfort and safety, including over 350 mobile toilets, medical camps, fire safety units, breastfeeding rooms, and a continuous supply of drinking water.
Food arrangements providing three meals a day have also been established. A large parking area accommodating over 4,000 vehicles has been organized across the 150-acre venue.
The program will include cultural performances such as parai drumming, silambam martial arts, and folk music.
A two-wheeler rally featuring over 100 motorcycles is planned to escort Chief Minister Stalin to the venue, enhancing the event's visual appeal.
The venue will be decorated with banners and displays emphasizing key welfare initiatives of the DMK government, including free bus travel for women, the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai monthly assistance scheme, hostels for working women, and various social security measures. Exhibits will also highlight the history and ideological development of the Dravidian movement.
In a social media message, Chief Minister Stalin remarked that the Palladam conference will not only showcase the DMK government's accomplishments but will also outline future commitments and responsibilities.
He hinted at the potential announcement of new initiatives aimed at enhancing women's welfare during the event, further solidifying the party's commitment to consolidating women's support in the lead-up to the Assembly elections.
