Srinagar, Nov 8 (NationPress) On Saturday, authorities in J&K’s Anantnag district made a significant discovery by recovering an AK-47 rifle from the personal locker of a medical professional. An official report stated that the police, aided by the Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) Anantnag, seized the firearm from the college's premises and detained the individual for questioning.
The doctor has been identified as Adeel Ahmad Rather, son of Abdul Majeed Rather, residing in Qazigund, Anantnag. Until October 24, 2024, he served as a senior resident doctor at GMC Anantnag.
The AK-47 was found within Dr. Rather’s personal locker at the GMC Anantnag facility.
The detained physician, along with the firearm, is now under the custody of Srinagar Police.
