Jaipur, March 25 (NationPress) Govind Singh Dotasra, the President of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), on Tuesday, accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government in Rajasthan of deliberately violating the Constitution and postponing panchayat elections.
During a press conference, Dotasra claimed that the Rajasthan State Election Commission has become ineffective under the current BJP administration.
He mentioned that the delimitation process was supposed to be finalized six months ago, yet the state government has not taken action.
Furthermore, he stressed that elections should occur within a five-year timeframe, but the state government is intentionally delaying them.
Dotasra highlighted the irregularities in Ganganagar, where elections were held in one ward, while another remained unfilled.
He also condemned the BJP government for misleading the public with the notion of 'One State, One Election.'
The PCC Chief accused the BJP government of manipulating the delimitation process for political advantage.
He asserted that an 'undeclared committee' composed of BJP and RSS leaders—namely Rajendra Rathore, Ghanshyam Tiwari, and Arun Chaturvedi—is steering the process, marginalizing the state cabinet committee.
Dotasra alleged that these leaders are pressuring Panchayati Raj officials to modify boundaries for political convenience.
According to him, wards with significant Congress support are being enlarged, while those favoring the BJP are being reduced.
He further accused the BJP-led state government of removing elected representatives without proper procedure, even in instances where the courts have imposed a stay on their removal.
When questioned about restructuring the party unit in Rajasthan, Dotasra revealed that significant organizational changes within Congress are on the horizon.
He stated that vacant roles in the state Congress unit would soon be filled, and new district presidents would be appointed.
Dotasra mentioned that he would soon travel to Delhi to discuss these matters with the Congress high command.
'The Congress organization will be fully activated, and only hardworking leaders will be entrusted with responsibilities,' he asserted.
