Mumbai, Nov 12 (NationPress) The former spouse of Dr. Shaheen, a physician based in Lucknow, who was taken into custody related to the Faridabad terror module investigation, has firmly rejected any ties to her or the case. He emphasized that his liberal family has no involvement with the terror network.

Dr. Shaheen, arrested on Monday, originates from Daliganj, Lucknow.

She is affiliated with Al-Falah University and has been linked to Dr. Muzammil, a Kashmiri doctor apprehended after authorities discovered 2,900 kg of explosives and flammable materials in his rented rooms in Faridabad.

Law enforcement revealed that, following information from Dr. Muzammil, the Faridabad Police recovered a Swift vehicle belonging to Dr. Shaheen, which also contained a Kalashnikov assault rifle.

Dr. Shaheen's family states that she was married to Zafar Hayat, a resident of Maharashtra, but their marriage ended in divorce in 2015.

This development has prompted security agencies to broaden their investigation across Maharashtra as well.

In an interview with IANS, Zafar Hayat stated, "I have had no connection or relationship with her. We have not spoken since our divorce. Around 2012–2013, we were both practicing medicine; life was good. There wasn't a specific reason for our separation, but she expressed a desire to move abroad, mentioning New York a couple of times. I encouraged her to stay, especially for our two small children who were starting school. Eventually, we parted ways, and we haven't communicated since."

He also emphasized, "My family and I have no ties to the events unfolding in Faridabad. I have no connection with her now. We are a very liberal family."

This incident came to light after police dismantled a terror module associated with Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind and confiscated 2,900 kg of explosives alongside a substantial cache of arms and ammunition.

Additionally, police disclosed that in recent days, two doctors from Jammu & Kashmir, Adil Ahmad Rather and Muzammil, were arrested due to their connections with these terror groups.

Security agencies are continuing their probe into the suspected terror module, concentrating on potential networks across Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
