Lucknow, Nov 11 (NationPress) The father of a woman doctor from Lucknow, Dr Shaheen, who was apprehended in relation to a significant cache of explosives discovered in Faridabad, close to Delhi, expressed disbelief on Tuesday regarding her potential involvement in such activities.
Dr Shaheen, who was taken into custody on Monday, originates from Daliganj, Lucknow.
Her father, Syed Ahmad Ansari, informed IANS that Dr Shaheen has three siblings.
“My eldest son, Shoaib, resides here with me. The second, Shaheen Syed, was arrested yesterday. She pursued her medical education in Allahabad. My younger son, Parvez Ansari, whose residence was searched this morning, departed the city a long time ago,” he stated.
Ansari mentioned that Shaheen was employed in Faridabad and had married a man from Maharashtra.
“I cannot fathom that my daughter was involved in such matters,” he remarked.
He noted that both Shaheen and Parvez had undergone medical training, adding that he had not seen them for the past year and a half.
“I last communicated with Shaheen about a month ago, but I speak to Parvez nearly every week. I had no knowledge of Shaheen’s arrest. I last conversed with Parvez last Tuesday, and our discussions were solely on his well-being,” he explained.
Ansari shared that after marriage, Parvez began residing with his wife in Saharanpur.
Shaheen is reportedly affiliated with Al-Falah University and had close ties with Dr Muzammil, a Kashmiri doctor who was detained after authorities uncovered 2,900 kg of explosives and flammable materials from his two rented accommodations in Faridabad.
Officials conveyed that following Muzammil’s information, the Faridabad Police discovered a Swift car linked to a female doctor associated with Al-Falah Hospital, along with a Kalashnikov assault rifle seized from the vehicle.
Meanwhile, Haryana DGP O.P. Singh announced on Tuesday that searches were being conducted throughout the state, including at Al-Falah Medical College and Hospital, a day after a substantial arsenal of explosives, arms, and ammunition tied to a terror module was confiscated in Faridabad.
He added that investigations were ongoing across the Al-Falah University campus, and numerous suspects related to the module were being interrogated.
Police sources verified that over 52 individuals, including faculty members, students, and the principal of the medical college, have been questioned in relation to the case.
This incident follows a blast near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station, where a Haryana-registered Hyundai i20 detonated near Gate No. 1, resulting in at least eight fatalities and numerous injuries.
Teams from the NIA and ATS also visited Dr Shaheen’s father’s residence in Lucknow following her arrest in the Faridabad terror module case.
