New Delhi, Oct 23 (NationPress) The Delhi Police announced the apprehension of a suspect believed to be involved in the kidnapping and murder of a five-year-old child in the Narela region, a case that seems to stem from a desire for vengeance.

The individual, known as Neetu, formerly employed as a driver for the boy's father, a local transporter, was taken into custody on Wednesday, just one day post the heinous act.

As per police reports, Neetu allegedly took the boy's life as retribution for being reprimanded by his employer days prior.

The situation was brought to light on Tuesday afternoon when the child disappeared while playing outside his Narela home. At approximately 3:30 p.m., a call was made to the Narela Industrial Area police station, indicating a potential kidnapping.

"Upon investigation, it became clear that the 5-year-old son of the complainant was last seen playing outside when he went missing. Subsequently, the child's remains were discovered in Neetu's room, where he resides in close proximity to the complainant's home," stated the police.

Further inquiries revealed a prior altercation between the complainant's two drivers, Neetu and Wasim, which occurred while they were intoxicated, leading to Neetu physically assaulting Wasim. Following Wasim's report to their employer, Neetu was scolded and slapped.

Infuriated by this humiliation, Neetu is said to have lured the child away, took him to his rented accommodation, and brutally murdered him with bricks and a knife. Emergency services were alerted, but unfortunately, the child was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

A case has been filed under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at PS Narela (FIR No. 700/25, dated October 21, 2025). Following the directives of the DCP (Outer North District), a specialized team was formed, incorporating personnel from PS Narela, AATS/OND, and Special Staff/OND, to prioritize the search for the suspect given the nature of the crime against a minor.

Police units were deployed at various transport hubs. Through technical surveillance, analysis of CCTV footage, and tips from confidential informants, the suspect's whereabouts were traced to the Malkaganj area of Delhi. The team swiftly pinpointed his exact location, leading to his capture. During questioning, Neetu confessed to his heinous actions.

Identified as Neetu Sahay from Bihar, he previously drove the complainant's Mahindra Champion (DL-1LU-2151) but was let go about a month ago due to work shortages.

A known alcoholic with a history of disputes, Neetu had recently clashed with the complainant and expressed intentions of revenge, which police believe fueled the motive for the murder.

Authorities have also recovered the accused's blood-stained clothing. To date, no prior criminal history has been uncovered. Ongoing investigations and recovery operations are in progress.
