New Delhi, April 13 (NationPress) A sequence of earthquakes impacted India and various other Asian nations on Sunday, including Myanmar, which is still addressing the repercussions of the March 28 quake.

A tremor measuring 3.4 in magnitude occurred on Sunday in the Mandi district of Himachal. The earthquake's epicenter was recorded at a depth of 5 km, as reported by the National Center for Seismology.

The Mandi district is categorized under seismic zone 5, indicating a high risk for damage. Initial assessments reveal no reported injuries or property damage.

In addition, a 5.5-magnitude earthquake was recorded in central Myanmar on Sunday morning.

The country's Department of Meteorology and Hydrology indicated that the epicenter, situated at a depth of 20 km, was approximately 14.5 km northeast of Wundwin town in the Mandalay region.

Previously, a 5.0 magnitude earthquake rattled central Myanmar at around 10:59 a.m. local time on Friday.

As per a report from the Thai Meteorological Department's Earthquake Observation Division, 468 aftershocks have been recorded in Myanmar and neighboring areas as of Saturday, following the intense 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck the region on March 28.

This includes 184 aftershocks with magnitudes ranging from 1.0 to 2.9, 198 with magnitudes between 3.0 and 3.9, 73 with magnitudes between 4.0 and 4.9, and 13 with magnitudes between 5.0 and 5.9.

The devastating earthquake in Myanmar has resulted in the loss of 3,689 lives and injured 5,020 individuals, with 139 people still unaccounted for, according to the country's State Administration Council Information Team.

Meanwhile, an earthquake measuring 6.1 jolted the border region of Afghanistan and Tajikistan at 04:24 a.m. (GMT) on Sunday, as reported by the GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences.

The epicenter was located at a depth of 10.0 km. No immediate reports of casualties or damage to infrastructure have been received, as per local news reports.

Later, at 10:36 a.m., a tremor of 3.9 magnitude was felt in the same region, also at a depth of 10 km.
