Kolkata, March 17 (NationPress) On Tuesday, the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the transfer of 19 senior police officials in West Bengal as part of preparations for the upcoming two-phase Assembly elections scheduled for next month.

The transferred officials include two Additional Director Generals (ADGs), four Commissioners of Police, twelve Superintendents of Police (SPs), and one Deputy Commissioner of Kolkata Police.

According to the transfer directives, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Singh will assume the role of the new ADG for South Bengal, while K. Jayaraman takes over as the ADG for North Bengal.

Dr. Pranab Kumar has been appointed as the Commissioner for Asansol-Durgapur in West Burdwan district, and Akhilesh Kumar Chaturvedi will now serve as the Commissioner for Howrah Police Commissariat in Hooghly district.

Amit Kumar Singh is the newly appointed Commissioner of Barrackpore Police Commissariat in North 24 Parganas district, and Sunil Kumar Yadav has been designated as the Commissioner of Chandannagar in Hooghly district.

Pushpa has been appointed as the new SP of Barasat Police District, while Jaspreet Singh will serve as the new SP for Cooch Behar district.

Surya Pratap Yadav is the new SP of Birbhum, and Rakesh Singh, from the West Bengal Police Service, will now be the SP of Islampur Police District.

Kumar Sunny Raj (IPS, 2017 batch) has been appointed as the SP of Hooghly (Rural), while Ishani Pal (IPS, 2013 batch) will take on the role of SP for Diamond Harbour Police District.

Sachin (IPS, 2013 batch) is designated as the new SP for Murshidabad Police District, and Alaknanda Bhowal (IPS, 2017 batch) will serve as the SP for Basirhat Police District.

Anupam Singh is the new SP for Malda, while Anshuman Saha has been appointed as the SP for East Midnapore district.
