Effects of Cyclone Fengal: Bihar's Temperature Set to Plummet in Coming Days

Patna, Dec 2 (NationPress) The repercussions of Cyclone Fengal are exacerbating chilly conditions throughout Bihar, with forecasts indicating a significant drop in temperatures in the next two days, according to the Meteorological Department.

A substantial shift in weather is expected over the upcoming four to five days, with minimum temperatures predicted to fall by three to four degrees Celsius.

Officials have issued warnings and advised residents to remain vigilant during this period.

On Monday, the skies are anticipated to remain overcast due to the cyclone, although rainfall is not predicted.

By Tuesday, the area will be subject to a cold wave coupled with dense fog, significantly enhancing the chill factor.

Recent reports indicate that Dehri in Rohtas district recorded the lowest temperature in Bihar over the last 24 hours, with a minimum of 10 degrees Celsius.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed through weather updates and to take necessary measures for cold protection.

The cold wave affecting Bihar is primarily caused by two factors: snowfall in the northern mountainous regions and the indirect effects of Cyclone Fengal.

While the cyclone's direct impact is felt mainly in South India, particularly in Tamil Nadu and Kerala where thunderstorms and rain have been recorded, its peripheral effects are leading to decreased temperatures and altered weather patterns in Bihar.

In the past 24 hours, Patna, the capital of Bihar, experienced notable temperature changes.

The maximum temperature near Patna’s airport was noted at 26.1 degrees Celsius, while the minimum reached 14.6 degrees Celsius.

Other cities in Bihar showed similar temperature reductions.

The met department reported 15.1 degrees Celsius in Muzaffarpur, 14 degrees Celsius in Darbhanga, 13.7 degrees Celsius in Bhagalpur, 13.1 degrees Celsius in Gaya, and 15.9 degrees Celsius in Begusarai district.

Dense fog was noted in Begusarai, resulting in zero visibility during morning hours.

Foggy conditions are expected to continue, and residents are advised to take precautions, particularly while traveling.

The Meteorological Department has cautioned of further temperature declines in the forthcoming days, urging the public to stay alert.
