Bihar Faces Severe Cold Wave

Patna, Dec 18 (NationPress) A cold wave has taken hold of Bihar, with numerous districts observing a notable decline in minimum temperatures.
The Meteorological Department has warned that these cold conditions are set to worsen, with dense fog expected to blanket 17 districts across Bihar in the coming two days.
In light of this situation, the Disaster Management Department of Bihar has implemented measures to support residents during this challenging time.

In the last 24 hours, Dehri in Rohtas was recorded as the coldest city in the state, with a minimum temperature of 6.5 degrees Celsius. Other districts also reported lower temperatures, including Valmikinagar at 11.9 degrees Celsius, Gopalganj at 10 degrees Celsius, Pupri (Sitamarhi) at 9.3 degrees Celsius, Madhubani at 10.2 degrees Celsius, Supaul at 12.8 degrees Celsius, Muzaffarpur at 9.6 degrees Celsius, and Madhepura at 9.3 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Department has forecasted a severe cold wave impacting Northwest India from December 18-21. This region encompasses Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, with the cold wave's effects expected to reach Bihar as well.
Dense fog is anticipated during late night and early morning hours in West Champaran, Saran, Siwan, Buxar, Patna, Sheikhpura, Nalanda, Jehanabad, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Darbhanga, Begusarai, Samastipur, Madhepura, Jamui, Bhagalpur, and Katihar.
Residents are urged to exercise caution, particularly while traveling, due to the reduced visibility from the fog and the ongoing cold wave.
