A substantial presence of security forces, comprising the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), Rapid Action Force (RAF), and local police, has been established throughout the district. Officials are closely observing all venues where Namaaz is conducted.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Vandana Mishra noted, “The Nagar Palika has ensured comprehensive cleaning of Eidgahs and mosques well ahead of time. Arrangements such as designated prayer rows, water tankers, and mobile toilets have been set up to assist devotees. Lekhpals are stationed at crucial points for regional inspections, and magistrates are present at all mosques where Eid Namaaz is being offered.”
SDM Mishra further emphasized, “Magistrates and police officers have been assigned to sensitive locations. The administration is actively monitoring social media to avert the dissemination of misinformation. Strict action will be taken against anyone attempting to incite disorder.”
On Sunday, Circle Officer Anuj Chaudhary performed a foot march through the city, accompanied by police personnel. He encouraged residents to conduct their prayers peacefully and assured them of the administration’s commitment to upholding law and order.
Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Bishnoi stated that security measures have been reinforced across the district, with a significant concentration of personnel in Sambhal city.
“A considerable number of police, PAC, and RAF personnel have been stationed in the district. Sambhal city has been designated as hypersensitive, and additional security forces, including zonal and sector magistrates, have been deployed. Our teams are also actively monitoring social media for any attempts to disrupt peace,” he said.
During the prayers, a symbolic act of communal harmony occurred when a Muslim youth showered flowers on the worshippers and exchanged Eid greetings.
Meanwhile, some members of the Muslim community wore black armbands in protest against the Waqf Amendment Bill. However, community leaders have urged the public to celebrate Eid with peace and brotherhood, highlighting the importance of unity during the festivities.
