Jaipur, Feb 7 (NationPress) Union Minister of Jal Shakti C.R. Paatil remarked on Saturday that entrepreneurs and traders are essential players in the advancement of India.
He pointed out the critical contribution of the industrial sector in fostering economic development and generating employment opportunities. “In this regard, the Union Budget for 2026–27, introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, incorporates initiatives to enhance the ease of doing business, such as a single-window mechanism to facilitate processes and promote industrial growth,” he stated.
Paatil made these remarks during a Trader and Business Dialogue centered on the Union Budget for 2026–27.
He noted that during the earlier Congress government under Manmohan Singh, India’s economy was positioned 11th globally.
He underscored that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has ascended to become the fourth-largest economy in the world and is on the path to securing the third position.
Paatil highlighted that economic progress has resulted in higher incomes and that recent alterations to the income tax framework have brought relief to the populace.
He also underscored the importance of both agriculture and industry, referencing government initiatives like the Kisan Samman Nidhi to support farmers.
The Union Minister acknowledged the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma for Rajasthan’s swift advancement towards water self-sufficiency.
He mentioned that the revised Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) has been allocated more than Rs 77,000 crore.
“Moreover, Rajasthan has formalized a water agreement with Haryana, which will supply water through three pipelines extending 90 kilometers. The Haryana Chief Minister has endorsed the project, and the Detailed Project Report is finalized,” he noted.
Paatil expressed optimism that, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Rajasthan will soon emerge as a leader in water availability, facilitating further industrial growth.
He also referenced the construction of over 415,000 water structures across the nation as part of the “Karmabhoomi Se Matrubhoomi” campaign, where migrant workers are actively contributing to water conservation efforts in Rajasthan.
Paatil further emphasized that since 2014, India has experienced a remarkable transformation under Prime Minister Modi’s stewardship, climbing from 11th to 4th place in the global economy, surpassing nations such as Britain and Japan.
He indicated that the recent trade agreement with the US will double the benefits for traders in the state. Welfare programs are effectively reaching their targets, internal security has improved, and India’s global standing has grown.
