Sheikhpura, (Bihar) Jan 20 (NationPress) The Prime Minister’s Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme, initiated by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, is revolutionizing local food processing ventures in Sheikhpura.

The central government’s initiative aims to organize food processing industries, fostering self-reliance and creating sustainable livelihoods. This scheme has emerged as a vital resource for employment and economic empowerment in both rural and urban regions across Bihar, enhancing the dignity of many.

Two inspiring stories from Sheikhpura highlight this transformation: Bahadur Ravidas from Pachna village and Soobe Sav from Station Road, Sheikhpura city.

Bahadur Ravidas started his journey as a laborer, striving to support his family while struggling to make ends meet. In search of better prospects, he relocated to Punjab, where he spent twelve years working in a cake bakery.

During that period, he acquired significant experience and skills. Yet, he felt a strong desire to return home, recognizing that being away from his family indefinitely was not a viable option. Opportunities in Bihar were scarce, but he was determined to build something of his own.

After returning to Sheikhpura, Bahadur initially took up jobs in various bakeries to sustain his family. Faced with a limited income and an uncertain future, he sought to explore new avenues through sheer determination. An acquaintance introduced him to the local industry department and the PMFME scheme.

This scheme ignited hope for him. With proper guidance, he applied online and soon qualified for the program. Bahadur received financial support under PMFME, along with technical assistance and training in business management. His cake-making venture finally gained momentum.

Today, his bakery not only provides a substantial income but has also earned him recognition as a successful entrepreneur. It generates employment for many locals, significantly reducing youth migration from the village. Through his enterprise, he supports his family, educates his children, and secures a stable future.

Soobe Sav: From Street Vendor to Flourishing Baker

Soobe Sav, a resident of Sheikhpura city, once roamed the streets in search of work. To make a living, he sold cut coconuts, balancing baskets on his head. Despite his hard work, his earnings were minimal, barely enough to support his family. His relatives often encouraged him to aim for something greater.

Motivated, Soobe ventured to Jharkhand, where he gained valuable experience working in a cake bakery.

During this time, he met a friend who enlightened him about the PMFME scheme. Recognizing this as the chance he had been waiting for, Soobe returned to Sheikhpura. With government support and guidance through the PMFME scheme, he established a small cake and bakery unit.

Today, his bakery operates successfully, yielding a steady income and providing him with stability and independence. Both Bahadur Ravidas and Soobe Sav attribute their success to the PMFME scheme and the government’s support, which has enabled them to realize their aspirations.

Both entrepreneurs extend their heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, viewing the scheme as a boon that not only creates employment but also restores dignity and self-respect.
