Begusarai (Bihar), May 4 (NationPress) The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) initiative is emerging as a significant support for urban farmers. The financial aid provided through this program has alleviated numerous difficulties, notably financial strains and reliance on money lenders, especially during crucial periods such as seed sowing and harvesting.
This financial assistance allows farmers to meet their needs promptly, eliminating the necessity to wait for crop sales to cover their basic expenses.
Numerous farmers in Begusarai district, while conversing with IANS, expressed their appreciation for the Prime Minister's efforts through this scheme.
Vidyanand Singh, from Sihma village in Matihani block of Begusarai, stated: “In the past, I had to rely on loans for farming. However, since the Prime Minister began providing Rs 6,000 under PM-KISAN, we no longer need loans and are able to purchase fertilizers and seeds timely.”
Amar Kumar, a 50-year-old farmer from Sihma village, mentioned: “I now receive three installments of Rs 2,000 each year from the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. This has been immensely beneficial, enabling us to become self-reliant for minor necessities.”
Shyam Sundar Singh, a 55-year-old farmer in Sihama village, explained that as a small-scale farmer, he previously resorted to loans for purchasing fertilizers and seeds. “Since receiving financial support from PM-KISAN, I have ceased taking out loans and can even save some money. I am thankful to the Prime Minister for his concern towards farmers,” he expressed.
Another villager, Chandan, shared similar sentiments: “Farmers faced numerous challenges, especially during floods and droughts, but since the introduction of PM-KISAN, we are experiencing great relief.”
“We are deeply grateful to PM Modi for his unwavering support towards farmers,” he added.
