New Delhi, Aug 2 (NationPress) Farmers in the Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh are experiencing the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, referring to it as a transformative boon that is positively impacting their agricultural practices.
Numerous small and marginal farmers in this area have commended the scheme for its timely financial support, particularly during the paddy season when costs of agricultural inputs soar.
Rakesh Kumar, a farmer from the district, shared with IANS, "The Pradhan Mantri Samman Nidhi funds are deposited directly into our accounts, eliminating the need for middlemen. This peak cropping season presents numerous challenges, and this scheme aids us significantly when we need it the most. It acts as our greatest boon, a vardaan, preventing us from taking loans from local moneylenders, which would otherwise weigh us down later on."
The PM-KISAN scheme allocates Rs 6,000 annually to eligible farmers in three equal instalments, which are directly credited to their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.
Completely funded by the Government of India, the scheme is designed to assist farmers with essential input costs such as seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, promoting sustainable farming and alleviating rural debt.
Another farmer, Ajay, voiced a similar sentiment, stating, "This scheme is genuinely a ‘Samman Yojana’ for us. It enhances our financial situation and aids in upgrading our farming techniques. We extend our gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for this financial support. Agriculture forms the backbone of our nation, and the transparent direct benefit transfer system is remarkably effective. We receive a text notification as soon as the funds are credited to our accounts."
Farmer Shyam Singh remarked, "The Samman Nidhi amount consistently arrives in our accounts on time, enabling us to purchase seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides promptly. This scheme has brought us relief and assurance, eliminating the need to borrow from local sahukars."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently launched the 20th installment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi Scheme from Varanasi, directly transferring Rs 2,000 into the bank accounts of farmers.
Thanks to the regular inflow of funds, farmers in Chandauli can prepare their fields and invest in quality inputs without the burden of financial stress.
For many, the scheme not only enhances livelihoods but also maintains dignity by decreasing reliance on informal credit channels.
With over 9 crore farmers benefiting nationwide, the PM-KISAN Yojana is celebrated as one of the most significant support systems for the agricultural community in the country.
