As per information from Chaksu Police Station SHO Manohar Lal Meghwal, the crash transpired around 5:30 AM on Saturday near Tigaria Mod in Chaksu. The vehicle was en route from Madhya Pradesh to Jaipur when the driver allegedly fell asleep, causing the car to slam into a trailer in motion.
The collision was so forceful that the car was utterly wrecked, leaving the bodies severely trapped inside. Four individuals, including a woman, were declared dead at the scene.
A young man who sustained serious injuries passed away while being transported to the hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Reshma Shrivastava, wife of Akhilesh Shrivastava, Piyush Rai, son of Rajesh Rai, Rajak Rahul, son of Bablu Rajak, and the driver Anurag. The identity of the fifth victim remains unknown. Rajak Rahul was a resident of Jabalpur city.
This incident resulted in a significant traffic jam on the National Highway. Local law enforcement and accident response teams arrived swiftly after the notification and managed to clear the scene.
The wrecked vehicles were removed using a crane, and traffic flow was resumed. All deceased individuals have been taken to the mortuary at Chaksu Sub-District Hospital.
Postmortem examinations are to be conducted following the arrival of the victims' family members.
Investigation Officer Jai Singh from the Accident Police Station (Second) reported that the families of the deceased have been notified. Further investigations are ongoing.
