The incident took place late on Friday evening when a group confronted the victim, identified as 35-year-old Yogendra Singh, who had been a dedicated 'sewadaar' at the temple for approximately 14 to 15 years.
Yogendra hailed from Fattepur, located in Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi.
Delhi Police reported that a PCR call was made around 9:30 P.M. on Friday, prompting a swift response from a police team.
Officials confirmed that an FIR has been filed under No. 515/25, invoking Sections 103(1)/3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Authorities disclosed that one suspect, 30-year-old Atul Pandey, a resident of Dakshinpuri in the National Capital, was apprehended by members of the public and subsequently handed over to police, while others involved are still at large.
