Gurugram, July 10 (NationPress) In a distressing turn of events, a national-level tennis player was tragically shot dead by her father within their Gurugram home on Thursday, according to police reports.
The perpetrator, who discharged three bullets into his daughter during a dispute concerning her tennis academy, has been taken into custody.
A spokesperson for the Gurugram Police stated that Radhika Yadav, aged 25, was fatally shot in her residence located in Sushant Lok Phase-2 of Gurugram's Sector-57 by her father using his licensed firearm at approximately 10:30 a.m.
Deepak Yadav, 49, fired five shots at Radhika, reportedly angered by her determination to continue running her tennis academy despite his disapproval, as per police reports.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sandeep informed IANS that Radhika had persisted in operating her tennis academy against her father's wishes.
"The accused has confessed to the crime," stated the ASI, adding that Deepak Yadav's brother Kuldeep, residing on the ground floor of their home, is the complainant in the case.
