Kolkata, June 21 (NationPress) An FIR has been filed against the West Bengal BJP chief, Sukanta Majumdar, at a police station in Kolkata on Saturday following a complaint from a Trinamool Congress councillor of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC).
In her complaint to the Bartala Police Station in North Kolkata, the Trinamool Congress councillor from ward number 18 of KMC, Sunanda Sarkar, accused Majumdar of likening the law and order situation in West Bengal to that of a red-light area in Kolkata.
Notably, a significant portion of ward number 18 of KMC, where Sarkar serves as councillor, encompasses the city’s and Asia’s oldest red-light district, which Majumdar allegedly referenced in his remarks.
