Hyderabad, July 2 (NationPress) - Five flights arriving from various destinations were redirected to alternative cities due to adverse weather conditions overnight, according to officials. However, normal operational status has since been restored.
Due to unfavorable weather at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, flights arriving from Lucknow, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Jaipur were rerouted to the nearest airports on Tuesday night.
Poor visibility at the runway, caused by inclement weather, necessitated the diversion of these flights.
An IndiGo flight 6E 638, en route from Bengaluru, was redirected to Vijayawada Gannavaram Airport in nearby Andhra Pradesh.
The Kolkata-Hyderabad IndiGo flight 6E 6528 was sent to Bengaluru due to the adverse weather conditions.
Similarly, the Lucknow-Hyderabad IndiGo flight 6E 6166 was also rerouted to Bengaluru, as well as IndiGo flight 6E 471 from Jaipur and another flight (6E 5326) arriving from Mumbai.
According to sources at the airport, all diverted flights successfully returned to Hyderabad Airport once weather conditions improved, with normal operations resuming on Wednesday.
