Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Sep 12 (NationPress) - Authorities apprehended four individuals from Bangladesh, including three women, in Delhi, as confirmed by police on Friday. Their deportation process has already been set in motion.
The group had been residing in the national capital since 2017.
Police action was initiated following confidential information received by Head Constable (HC) Sundar Singh regarding illegal Bangladeshi female migrants in the Kapashera area.
According to a statement from the Delhi Police, "The individuals were identified and pointed out by the informer."
Upon receiving this tip-off, the police team approached the suspects, requested identification documents, and conducted a comprehensive inquiry. "The individuals could not provide any valid documents and admitted to being illegal migrants from Bangladesh who entered India via the Bangaon border and Tripura state in 2017, with some having come through an Indian visa but failing to return," reported the police.
They revealed their intention to find housekeeping jobs in Mumbai and Delhi, but were unsuccessful, leading them to settle in Delhi near Kapashera.
At the time of their detention, they were actively seeking employment. The police examined their mobile phones and social media accounts, reaching out to their families to collect their Bangladesh National ID cards.
The group comprised three females and one male. After thorough verification, legal procedures were completed, which led to the cancellation of their Indian identity, and their deportation was initiated through the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), New Delhi.
The individuals were identified as Farjana Akter from Southpara, Gazirchar Alyamadrasa Ashulia, Dhaka; Nazma Begum from Kudaliba, Kotwali, District Jessore; Resma Aktar from Palpara, Road Shibbari Sonadanga Model Khulna; and Orko Khan from Kudaliba, Kotwali Jessore.
This action was taken to mitigate crime and monitor foreign nationals residing illegally within jurisdiction, as stated by the South West District Police.
The police have assigned dedicated teams from the Operations Cell/SWD to gather intelligence and take stringent action against illegal migrants.
A specialized team was formed, comprising SI Anil, HC Sundar, HC Deepak, HC Sandeep, Ct. Rajesh, Ct. Mohit, W/Ct. Somata, W/Ct. PC, and W/Ct. Manisha, under the leadership of Insp. Gajender Singh, I/C Anti Narcotics Cell/SW, and supervised by Sh. Vijaypal Tomar, ACP/Operations, South West District, according to a press note by Amit Goel, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South West District.
The team has been tasked with identifying illegal migrants by conducting rigorous checks, particularly in vulnerable areas of the South-West District.
