Bhopal, Nov 1 (NationPress) Sending his best wishes to the people of Madhya Pradesh on the significant occasion of its 70th Foundation Day on Saturday, seasoned Congress leader and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath emphasized that "a fresh direction" is essential for the state's industrial and economic advancement.
On this momentous day, the ex-Chief Minister remarked, "Madhya Pradesh is the heart of the country. Its identity is rooted in cultural diversity and natural richness. The time has come for Madhya Pradesh to reassess its approach towards industry and job creation.
Kamal Nath, who has actively participated in Madhya Pradesh's political landscape for over 45 years (since 1980, 24 years post the state's inception), stated that since its formation on November 1, 1956, Madhya Pradesh has been pivotal in foodgrain production for the nation.
He added, "The credit for this achievement belongs to over eight crore residents of Madhya Pradesh."
Additionally, Kamal Nath addressed the state's economic status and rising debt levels.
"It is crucial that we elevate our gross state domestic product (GSDP) to a level that positions Madhya Pradesh as a developed state," he asserted.
On another note, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, in a statement released on this special day, highlighted the achievements and initiatives undertaken in the state under his leadership since January 2024.
He stated that beginning from Ujjain in March 2024, the BJP-led government launched an investment initiative that reached areas like Gwalior, Jabalpur, Sagar, Rewa, Shahdol, Narmadapuram, and extended to major cities including Mumbai, Coimbatore, Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi, and even international locations like the UK, Germany, Japan, and Dubai.
"Madhya Pradesh is witnessing an extraordinary transformation fueled by investment, innovation, and job creation. Over the last two years, the state has made historic strides in industries such as agriculture, dairy, energy, environment, and social empowerment," he noted.
The state is celebrating its 70th Formation Day under the theme "Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh" from November 1 to 3.
Chief Minister Yadav is set to inaugurate the event and unveil the Union government's 'Vision 2047' document, which outlines priorities across vital sectors.
The main festivities will occur at the Lal Parade Ground starting at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
On the opening day of the 70th Formation Day, 500 artists will present performances that depict the life of Lord Krishna, followed by a spectacular drone show featuring 2,000 drones, and a live concert by the popular singer Jubin Nautiyal.
Additionally, tribal artists will perform traditional dances, including Bhagoria, Karma, Pardhoni, and Gangore.
The event will culminate in a dazzling fireworks display on Saturday evening.
