Patna, Nov 4 (NationPress) The Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has recently criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that the government is attempting to divert the attention of the youth by endorsing short-video content rather than creating job opportunities.
During a significant Mahagathbandhan rally in Aurangabad, Gandhi stated, “When Modi visits Bihar, he touts the affordability of data, suggesting you can enjoy videos and create reels on social media. I pose this question to you -- do you wish to generate reels or secure employment? Although data is inexpensive, who truly profits? His industrialist allies. Every reel you produce only fills their pockets. This strategy keeps you occupied with reels, preventing you from voicing genuine concerns regarding employment, unemployment, paper leaks, education, health, and universities.”
He further asserted that getting the youth hooked on reels resembles introducing them to a new form of addiction.
Gandhi also highlighted the dire state of health infrastructure, noting that numerous patients from Bihar travel to Delhi for medical care.
“Daily, two to three thousand individuals sleep on the pavements near AIIMS Delhi. When I inquire about their origin, they respond: Bihar. Patients do not seek treatment in Bihar hospitals; they go there to meet their end,” he remarked.
He criticized the Centre regarding the Agniveer scheme, arguing that it has eliminated a significant job prospect for youths who were preparing for military recruitment.
“After four years, Agniveers will be dismissed. If they fall in battle, they won’t even receive martyr recognition. Their families will lack support. Previously, young individuals from Dalit, Mahadalit, EBC, OBC, and other communities secured employment in HAL, BHEL, Indian Oil, and various PSUs - but PM Modi has privatized them and allocated them to his industrialist affiliates,” stated LoP Rahul Gandhi.
He also accused the administration of devaluing education by permitting paper leaks.
“You may study for years, but it becomes futile if the exam paper leaks one or two days prior. Without connections or substantial funds, success is unattainable,” he expressed.
Referring to PM Modi’s recent appearance during Chhath in Delhi, LoP Rahul Gandhi ridiculed it as mere “drama.”
“PM Modi claimed he would bathe in the Yamuna, yet a clean water pipe was prepared for him. A special pond was constructed. After the video surfaced, he discreetly withdrew,” he added.
LoP Rahul Gandhi also accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of reducing the youth of Bihar to mere laborers.
“I travel to every state -- Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Arunachal Pradesh, even Ladakh -- and everywhere I encounter young individuals from Bihar employed as laborers. Nitish Kumar has governed Bihar for 20 years. He has relegated Bihar’s youth to labor,” he declared.
Reflecting on Bihar’s ancient academic heritage, he said: “Once, Nalanda University was the pinnacle of learning globally. Students from Japan, Korea, China, and England came here for education. Now, our students are compelled to migrate abroad -- to the USA, England, Japan, China, Korea, and even Uzbekistan. This is Bihar’s legacy, yet your government refuses to assist you.”
LoP Rahul Gandhi further claimed that Nitish Kumar is not governing independently.
“Nitish Kumar lacks control. The remote is in the hands of the Prime Minister. Whatever PM Modi desires, Nitish Kumar complies,” he remarked.
He added that if the Grand Alliance assumes power, it will cater to all demographics.
“Our government will represent Dalits, minorities, EBCs, OBCs, and impoverished individuals from the general category,” he assured.
The Congress leader also asserted that the NDA’s only path to success is through electoral fraud.
“Modi and Amit Shah are aware they cannot triumph in Bihar. Their only avenue is vote theft. They appropriated Maharashtra, Haryana, the Lok Sabha -- and now they aspire to pilfer Bihar. However, the people of Bihar are astute. They recognize that vote theft is an affront to the Constitution that B.R. Ambedkar authored. If the Constitution is dismantled, only Modi and his industrialist allies will persist,” Gandhi stated.
He also questioned the forgiveness of loans to corporations.
“Billions of rupees were forgiven for industrialists. Have they erased the debts of Bihar’s farmers?” he asked.
LoP Rahul Gandhi concluded his address with a bold promise:
“I will establish a world-class university in Bihar, where students from across the globe will converge to learn. This represents my vision for Bihar,” he declared.
