Jaipur, Sep 11 (NationPress) Rajasthan is gearing up for the inaugural Ghoomar Festival-2025 in Jaipur on November 15. This initiative, spearheaded by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, aims to highlight the state’s vibrant folk culture while promoting women's empowerment on both national and international platforms.
Preparations for this milestone event were discussed during a meeting led by District Collector Jitendra Kumar Soni at the District Collectorate on Thursday, under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism, Art & Culture Minister Diya Kumari.
Soni urged officials to finalize arrangements promptly to ensure the festival becomes a magnificent representation of Rajasthan’s traditions and culture.
Joint Director of Tourism Punita Singh stated that the festival will not only honor folk heritage but also convey a powerful message regarding women’s empowerment.
Deputy Director of Tourism Upendra Singh Shekhawat revealed that potential venues include Chitrakoot Stadium, Polo Ground, and Bhawani Niketan College Ground.
Online registrations will commence on September 15 via the Tourism Department’s portal, allowing group registrations of up to 20 participants. Additionally, registered organizations will receive an incentive of Rs 500.
The department is also set to launch an official festival song and hold workshops from November 9 to November 13.
Shekhawat added that the Tourism Department will oversee all logistics, including tents, lighting, sound, decoration, and photo-videography. Special traffic management plans will cater to participants from various schools and colleges.
Basic facilities such as water, sanitation, electricity, and toilets will be provided by the Municipal Corporation, PHED, and JVNl. Adequate police presence, medical teams, and emergency services will also be on-site. Attendees can enjoy food stalls, souvenir shops, and other amenities, while a dedicated jury will ensure ongoing review and coordination of the event.
The District Collector emphasized the importance of collaboration among all departments to ensure the success of this historic festival, which seeks to elevate Rajasthan’s heritage and culture.
The meeting saw participation from Additional District Collector Mukesh Kumar Mund, officials from various departments including Police, PWD, PHED, Municipal Corporation, JVNl, and representatives from Rotary Club, Lions Club, NGOs, voluntary organizations, educational institutions, and anchor Preeti Saxena.
