Giridih, Jan 27 (NationPress) A woman tragically lost her life, and six others sustained serious injuries in a powerful explosion that devastated a house in Sheetalpur, situated in Giridih district of Jharkhand. The blast occurred in the early hours of Monday.
The incident took place at approximately 2:00 a.m. in the home of Umesh Das. The force of the explosion caused extensive damage, resulting in parts of the walls and roof collapsing. The resounding noise of the blast startled the community, leading residents to contact the authorities.
Emergency responders, along with locals, hurried to rescue the victims trapped beneath the debris. Initially, they were transported to Giridih Sadar Hospital for medical care. However, due to critical injuries, all six survivors—Umesh Das, his wife Sabita Devi, their sons Sandeep Das and Sunny Das, daughter Lakshmi, and Umesh's father-in-law—were subsequently referred to Ranchi's Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for specialized treatment.
Sadly, Bedanti Devi succumbed to her injuries en route to the hospital.
