Amaravati, April 12 (NationPress) The preparations for the upcoming Godavari Pushkaralu 2027 have officially commenced in the East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh as of Sunday. The Endowments Minister, Anam Ramnarayan Reddy, was present to lay the foundation stone for a series of developmental initiatives.
On this occasion, the minister announced the initiation of various projects aimed at enhancing the infrastructure and facilities for the Godavari Pushkaralu 2027.
During the groundbreaking and Bhoomi Puja ceremonies, he revealed that projects worth Rs 9.55 crore will be executed under Phase I in Rajamahendravaram.
Accompanying him were MP Daggubati Purandeswari, MLA Adireddy Srinivas, MLC Somu Veerraju, among others.
Minister Reddy highlighted that with the Godavari Pushkaralu set to commence on June 26, 2027, significant renovation efforts for temples in nearby areas are underway.
He disclosed that a total of Rs 51.79 crore has been allocated, and tenders are being called for the development of 43 temples across the East Godavari, West Godavari, and Konaseema districts.
Emphasizing the importance of the Pushkarams as a matter of state pride, he stated that the responsibility for executing the event flawlessly lies with everyone involved.
With an estimated 10 crore devotees from both India and abroad expected to participate, comprehensive infrastructure enhancements are being planned to accommodate the influx.
Plans are also being devised to facilitate holy dips along a 212-kilometre stretch of the Godavari River, covering the districts of East Godavari, West Godavari, Konaseema, Eluru, and Kakinada.
With the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Pushkarams are set to be organized successfully, with dates scheduled from June 26 to July 7.
Minister Ramnarayan Reddy noted that three state-level meetings have been conducted so far to ensure the effective execution of the Pushkaralu. These meetings included one led by the Chief Secretary, a sub-committee meeting with 12 ministers, and another overseen by the Chief Minister, which was attended by various ministers and secretaries.
He also remarked on the extensive experience of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in organizing Pushkarams, indicating that preparations are advancing swiftly under his guidance.
Reddy expressed his happiness in initiating development works for six endowment institutions in Rajamahendravaram, costing Rs 9.55 crore.
He considers it a privilege to have laid the foundation stones for the renovation of these temples.
He instructed officials to identify the remaining tasks, prioritize them, prepare cost estimates, and submit the proposals accordingly.
MP Daggubati Purandeswari affirmed the spiritual significance of the Godavari Pushkaralu, stating it is a grand festival of national importance.
She emphasized the close collaboration between the Central and State governments to ensure all necessary amenities are provided for the pilgrims.
Purandeswari also commended the initiatives being taken to organize the Pushkaralu on a grand scale, particularly through temple development and infrastructure expansion.
