Reflecting on his past struggles, he remarked, "Before this house, my children would frequently ask, 'Papa, when will we have our own home?' Constantly moving from one rental to another was a persistent hassle, damaging our belongings and compounding our difficulties. But now, with a permanent home, our lives have improved significantly."
Commending the initiative, Abhishek continued, "PM Modi and CM Yogi have accomplished such remarkable feats that our children's future is now assured. Having a roof over our heads is an indescribable blessing. To us, they are a godsend, and we are forever thankful for the support they provide to ordinary citizens."
Launched on June 25, 2015, PMAY is a flagship program designed to provide housing for all in urban settings. It offers central assistance to states and Union Territories to build homes for eligible families, aiming for the construction of 1.12 crore houses.
While the minimum house size under PMAY is established at 30 square meters, states have the liberty to adjust it according to local needs.
