Ahmedabad, Nov 12 (NationPress) The Gujarat Cabinet on Monday expressed its sincere congratulations to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel for unveiling two major, farmer-focused agricultural relief packages and for the state's exceptional achievement in water management at the national level.
During a media briefing following the Cabinet meeting led by the Chief Minister, government spokesperson Jitu Vaghani highlighted that the state government had previously announced two substantial relief packages - Rs 947 crore and Rs 10,000 crore - to support farmers impacted by unseasonal rains.
With an additional allocation of Rs 190 crore, the overall assistance from both packages now totals Rs 11,137 crore.
Vaghani noted that the Cabinet conveyed its gratitude to the Chief Minister on behalf of Gujarat’s farmers for this compassionate and generous initiative aimed at aiding them in recovering from crop losses.
He further mentioned that Gujarat has proudly secured a notable position in the Sixth National Water Awards, announced by the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti, achieving second place nationally in the Water Conservation category.
Other accolades include Banas Dairy winning first place in the Civil Society category, IIT-Gandhinagar being awarded first place in the Inside Campus category, and Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation receiving second place in the Urban Local Body category.
The Cabinet also passed a resolution to congratulate all institutions and individuals whose efforts contributed to the state's national recognition.
Meanwhile, after the State Cabinet meeting held in Gandhinagar today, spokesperson and Minister Jitu Vaghani informed that the Chief Minister has directed all ministers to dedicate Mondays and Tuesdays solely for addressing public grievances and representations from elected representatives, except in unavoidable circumstances.
The Chief Minister has further instructed that on these two days, ministers must remain present in their offices throughout the day to personally engage with citizens' concerns and ensure effective resolution measures, rather than attending other meetings or events.
Additionally, the Chief Minister has requested all in-charge ministers to visit their respective districts, conduct review meetings with the local administration, and oversee the progress of key flagship projects.
Ministers are also tasked with evaluating road conditions in their districts, meeting with relevant officials by November 30, and submitting detailed status reports directly to the Chief Minister.
To ensure accountability, CM Patel emphasized that there must be no compromise on road quality and directed strict supervisory measures. Any instances of subpar work, he warned, should lead to the strictest possible action against those accountable.
