Key Takeaways
In Gandhinagar on March 18, Gujarat's Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has instructed the administrative officials to promptly implement the suggestions and representations provided by the legislators during the current Budget session.
The objective is to convert the discussions held in the Assembly into actionable policies and administrative measures.
This directive was announced following a State Cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Patel on Wednesday.
During a briefing for the media, government spokesperson and minister Jitu Vaghani stated that the Chief Minister has directed department secretaries to meticulously document the inputs raised by Legislative Assembly members and to act upon them without delay.
"The ongoing Budget session of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly allows both ruling and opposition members to present a variety of suggestions and queries while addressing departmental demands and proposed bills," he explained.
Vaghani highlighted that the Chief Minister emphasized that these contributions should extend beyond the Assembly discussions.
“The Chief Minister is committed to ensuring that these representations and suggestions are not merely discussed in the Assembly but are also executed at the administrative level,” said Vaghani.
He noted that clear orders were given during the Cabinet meeting to ensure that all suggestions made by legislators for the benefit of citizens are thoroughly recorded and assessed.
“Should any government policy be inadvertently causing difficulties for citizens, or if revisions to policies could enhance public welfare, immediate actions must be taken to effect necessary changes,” he added.
Vaghani further mentioned that the Chief Minister has tasked officials to integrate constructive suggestions from legislators into the administrative processes.
“Proposals aimed at public welfare should be assimilated into governance with a proactive approach,” he stated.
The overarching goal of the government is to guarantee that as many citizens as possible can readily access the advantages of government schemes and policies.
“Members frequently propose necessary amendments to various policies and schemes in the House,” he noted, suggesting that such decisions would enhance transparency in government operations and allow for quicker resolutions to public concerns.
The minister affirmed that the state government is steadfast in its determination to fulfill public expectations and aspirations.
