The Gandhinagar Municipal Commissioner, J.N. Vaghela, reported to Chief Minister Patel that ongoing efforts have resulted in a noticeable decline in typhoid cases.
“We have deployed 85 survey teams as part of surveillance and containment measures, which have serviced over 158,000 individuals,” Vaghela conveyed.
“We have ensured the adequate distribution of chlorine tablets and ORS packets, prioritizing repairs on water pipeline leaks.”

To combat water-borne diseases, the Chief Minister mandated daily collection and testing of water samples for quality and chlorination levels. Water supply should only commence after receiving satisfactory testing results, not only in Gandhinagar but across all urban regions of the state.
Additionally, Chief Minister Patel instructed officials to carry out field inspections of ongoing pipeline projects to ensure adherence to quality standards and to expand the scope of water testing while addressing leakages promptly.
Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi participated in the meeting via video conference, accompanied by senior officials, including Rajiv Topno, Additional Chief Secretary (Health), Sanjeev Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, and other key health officials.
