Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel launches natural farming kiosk in Valsad; 10 centres planned
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Tuesday, 3 November 2026, inaugurated the 'Prabha Natural Farming Produce Sales Centre' in Valsad district, marking the first of a proposed network of 10 kiosks aimed at creating a direct marketplace for farmers practising natural farming and ensuring fairer returns on their produce.
The inauguration signals a structured push by the state to close the gap between natural farming cultivators and end consumers through a more organised supply chain.
What the Centre Offers
The outlet stocks naturally grown vegetables, fruits, grains, and honey. Beyond consumer produce, it also sells natural farming inputs — including Ghan Jeevamrut, Gomutra, Beejamrut, and Jeevamrut — enabling farmers to source the materials needed for cow-based farming practices under one roof. Chief Minister Patel inspected the facility and was briefed on the range of products available for sale.
The Broader Kiosk Network Plan
The proposed 10 kiosks across Valsad district are designed to strengthen the farm-to-consumer supply chain, reduce dependence on intermediaries, and help cultivators secure fair prices for naturally grown produce. The centres are also intended to raise consumer awareness about chemical-free food and encourage wider adoption of natural farming practices in the region.
Gujarat's Natural Farming Policy Background
Gujarat has been systematically promoting natural farming through financial assistance and training programmes for several years. In 2020, the state announced a monthly assistance of ₹900 towards the maintenance of an indigenous cow for eligible farmers practising cow-based natural farming, along with support for purchasing input preparation kits such as those used to make Jeevamrut. The Valsad kiosk initiative builds on that foundation by addressing the marketing gap that has historically limited farmer earnings.
National Mission on Natural Farming
At the national level, the Centre approved the National Mission on Natural Farming in November 2024, aiming to promote chemical-free, livestock-integrated, and diversified cropping systems across India. The mission also targets improved soil health, reduced cultivation costs, and stronger ecological sustainability — goals that Gujarat's kiosk network directly complements at the state level.
Officials Present at the Inauguration
Finance, Urban Development and Urban Housing Minister Kanu Desai and Lok Sabha MP and Whip Dhaval Patel attended the inauguration. Valsad MLA Bharat Patel, District Development Officer Atirag Chaplot, and Superintendent of Police Yuvrajsinh Jadeja were also present at the event.
With nine more kiosks still to be set up across Valsad, the pace of their rollout will determine whether the initiative translates into a replicable model for other districts in Gujarat.
