Gandhinagar, March 28 (NationPress) The government of Gujarat has addressed more than 10,000 complaints regarding domestic LPG connections and has bolstered measures to guarantee the continuous supply of vital goods, such as petrol, diesel, gas, fertilizers, and other daily essentials.
This declaration came after a high-level assembly led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar on Saturday.
Attending the meeting were Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, Minister of Energy and Petrochemicals Rushikesh Patel, Civil Supplies Minister Raman Solanki, along with senior officials from the state.
The discussions focused on the inventory levels, distribution logistics, and accessibility of essential materials throughout the state.
Deputy Chief Minister Sanghavi stated, “We have established arrangements to guarantee that 1.28 crore domestic LPG customers receive their gas punctually. A toll-free hotline and a dedicated operations center are in place to address complaints swiftly. Residents need not worry about the availability of fertilizers, gas, petrol, diesel, or other essentials.”
This meeting was convened following directives from Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a video conference with all Chief Ministers and Lieutenant Governors on Friday, which emphasized supply chain management for petrol, diesel, PNG, LPG, fertilizers, and food amid the current global situation.
Officials confirmed that there are adequate stocks of petrol, diesel, PNG, LPG, and fertilizers in Gujarat, and the state government has implemented measures to ensure ongoing supply.
Particular attention was given to PNG connections, prioritizing households, hospitals, and educational establishments.
Currently, Gujarat represents 23 percent of the nation’s PNG connections and 12 percent of CNG filling stations.
Sanghavi further noted, “We aim to provide 50,000 new PNG connections within the next 15 days. In the last 10 days, we have already delivered over 12,000 domestic PNG connections and more than 300 commercial connections.”
The meeting also tackled issues related to hoarding, black marketing, and misinformation.
Sanghavi advised, “Any rumors regarding shortages will be addressed promptly. Citizens are encouraged to report misinformation spread via WhatsApp to the authorities. Strict measures will be enforced against offenders. District collectors and police chiefs have been tasked with this responsibility.”
Coordination committees will be established at the district level under the leadership of district collectors to resolve industrial issues, with these committees reporting to a state-level industries panel.
The meeting also called for close monitoring of cargo at ports to avert congestion and disruption in the supply chain.
Farmers have been assured of the sufficient availability of fertilizers for the Kharif season, and timely payment of wages to laborers has been stressed amidst global economic challenges.
The state government reiterated its dedication to maintaining the supply of essential commodities, curbing hoarding and black marketing, and ensuring smooth collaboration with the central government to effectively meet public needs.
