Gurugram DC Urges Builders to Expedite Structural Audits

Gurugram, Dec 3 (NationPress) In light of the safety of residents in multiple societies throughout the district, Deputy Commissioner Gurugram, Ajay Kumar conducted a meeting with several builders on Tuesday, offering them crucial directives to accelerate the structural audit process.
Kumar voiced his dissatisfaction regarding the insufficient collaboration from builder companies in executing the structural audits for residential towers, noting that some builders have shown a lack of interest in this critical procedure and have failed to pay their portion of the audit fees.
"Such a negligent attitude from the management of builders in a matter as sensitive as public safety is wholly unacceptable. They must prioritize the structural audit process," he stated.
The DC instructed the builders to promptly remit their share of the fees to expedite the structural audit process, allowing for immediate repairs if any deficiencies are identified.
Additionally, he ordered a separate meeting with those Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) that have not yet paid their audit fees.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Hitesh Kumar Meena mentioned, "The district administration has approved four agencies for conducting structural audits. Builders are free to choose an audit agency outside of these four, but they must obtain written consent from the relevant RWA."
District Town Planner (DTP) Manish Yadav indicated that 15 societies were included in the initial phase of this initiative, with all fees being paid by the builder.
In the second phase, however, audit fees have not been paid by the builder in two out of those 15 societies. Testing has been completed in 11 societies, with repair work initiated in two.
Furthermore, 23 additional societies are part of the second phase. Among these, audit fees have been paid only by the builder and RWA in NBCC society, and by the builder in two other societies, he reported.
He further noted that in this phase, audit fees remain unpaid at the RWA level in 22 societies and at the builder level in 20 societies.
ADC Hitesh Kumar Meena, DTP (enforcement), GMDA RS Batth, and DTP (enforcement) Manish Yadav were also present during the meeting.
