Gurugram, April 2 (NationPress) A collaborative demolition initiative was undertaken by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) and Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) in the Sector-69 region of Gurugram on Wednesday.
Previously, GMDA had cleared over 60 acres of green belts along SPR, while ongoing surveillance of the area is also being performed.
R.S. Baath, the Nodal Officer for encroachments in Gurugram and DTP GMDA, along with the Enforcement Wing of GMDA and MCG officials, took decisive action against unlawful encroachments in Sector 69.
Baath mentioned that more than 50 police personnel were present during the operation, resulting in the demolition of two restaurants, one office space, two car washing areas, and two car polishing shops.
“These establishments were erected without proper authorization along the service roads under GMDA jurisdiction,” he stated.
He also noted that MCG had previously issued notices to these offenders and coordinated the removal during Wednesday’s demolition action by GMDA.
“It was discovered that three to four slums had reoccupied the area that had been cleared of encroachments earlier, and their unauthorized dwellings were also removed in the drive,” he added.
Baath emphasized that GMDA and other local administrative departments are taking stringent measures against encroachments in the city, and many more joint enforcement initiatives will be spearheaded by GMDA in Gurugram.
“Our objective is to ensure that green belts and government land remain free from encroachments for future beautification and development. Furthermore, any illegal colonies and constructions will face strict action, and collaborative efforts will continue across the city,” stated R.S. Baath.
