Gurugram: Demolition Initiative Undertaken from Bus Stand to Sheetla Mata Mandir Road

Gurugram, Dec 4 (NationPress) A significant anti-encroachment initiative was conducted by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) on Wednesday, covering a stretch from the bus stand to Sheetla Mata Mandir road.
The total distance of the area is approximately two kilometres. DTP GMDA, R.S. Batth, recently made two visits to this road and urged individuals to eliminate encroachments.
It was observed that proprietors of eateries, repair shops, blanket vendors, and grocery stores were utilizing an additional space of 10 to 15 feet for their materials.
After the two visits, DTP GMDA instructed the relevant offenders to clear these extensions within 24 hours.
Subsequently, DTP GMDA and nodal officer R. S. Batth, accompanied by a team from MCG and police, arrived on Wednesday to dismantle the unlawful extensions created by shopkeepers.
This demolition operation was executed by the GMDA enforcement team and MCG squad after conducting two days of assessments along the Bus Stand to CRPF Road.
Residents in the vicinity had raised several concerns regarding illegal hawkers and traffic problems between the Bus Stand and CRPF Road, where unauthorized walls, iron sheds, kiosks, and illegal ramps were built on the roadway.
During this operation, DTP R.S. Batth announced that a total of 10 illegal carts, 90 unauthorized sheds in front of shops, and 5 kiosks were removed for the convenience of the public.
"Following our intervention, the citizens of Gurugram will undoubtedly notice an improvement in the traffic situation, leading to a smoother flow of vehicles without congestion. The demolition efforts commenced from the Bus Stand to CRPF Road. We harbor no animosity towards anyone and always allow time for encroachment removal, but those who disregard this will face stringent actions. I urge everyone to collaborate in making the city encroachment-free and clean," stated R.S. Batth.
During this operation, the Planning Division, ATP Satinder Arya, ATP Mange Ram, JE Sumit, Ashish, and Mohit Kumar, along with the MCG team and local police, were present to ensure a seamless execution.
