Gurugram, March 10 (NationPress) The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has served notices to four ready-mix concrete (RMC) plants operating on the Sector Dividing Road of Sector-112/114 and Sector-78/79A.
Officials from the authority conducted site inspections and discovered that the GMDA constructed these roads approximately one year ago. These RMC plants have unlawfully accessed the sector dividing roads, resulting in significant road damage due to tippers spilling slurry, which is a major contributor to dust pollution.
The GMDA's Infrastructure Division has notified the Enforcement Wing regarding this issue. R.S. Batth, the DTP GMDA, has issued notices requiring the owners of these plants to explain their position regarding any access permissions they might have obtained, within a 48-hour timeframe.
These RMC plants are situated within the Residential/Commercial Zones specified in the Development Plan of GMUC-2031 AD, and the legitimacy of their operational permissions is currently under review.
R.S. Batth stated, “We have issued notices and will undertake actions if no valid permissions are found; such measures will persist in the future to enhance the environment.”
Additionally, the development authority has recently sent notices to at least 40 real estate and other companies for their failure to maintain and develop the green belts assigned to them under their corporate social responsibility.
Hardeep Singh Malik, the Adviser and Head of the Urban Environment Division of the GMDA, mentioned that a 30-day notice has been issued to these companies, urging them to commence the development and regular maintenance of the designated green belts.
The authority has also requested these companies to send their representatives to his office within one week of receiving the notice to provide a response.
