Gurugram, April 18 (NationPress) In their relentless pursuit to combat encroachment, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) and Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) executed a thorough two-day demolition initiative along Sheetla Mata Road in Gurugram on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Throughout this operation, unauthorized constructions were dismantled across a 2.5-km stretch on both sides, extending from Mata Mandir to Sector-5 in Gurugram.

During the course of the drive, encroachments in front of over 200 shops, which were obstructing traffic flow, were eliminated, resulting in the clearance of the main carriageways.

Additionally, illegal sheds and advertising boards were taken down.

Generators that were set up along the roadside were also instructed to be relocated to the rooftops of buildings after assessing the stability of the structures.

Moreover, the MCG halted construction activities for several other buildings situated within a 900-meter radius of the ammunition depot.

The operation was spearheaded by R.S. Batth, Nodal Officer for encroachment in Gurugram, alongside GMDA District Town Planning.

Officials from the Enforcement Wing of GMDA, MCG, and 30 police personnel were present throughout the anti-encroachment operation.

Previously, GMDA had conducted similar two-day demolition efforts along Sheetla Mata Road, successfully removing encroachments from 350 shops along the entire stretch from Atul Kataria Chowk to Sector-5.

"Prior warnings were issued before the execution of these drives, and strict directives have been established against encroachment on public land. We uphold a zero-tolerance policy towards encroachment, and FIRs will be filed against violators," declared R.S. Batth.

Earlier in March, GMDA cleared over 60 acres of green belts along the Southern Peripheral Road, and regular monitoring of the area is being conducted.

R.S. Batth, in conjunction with the Enforcement Wing of GMDA and MCG officials, took measures against illegal encroachments in Sector-69 of Gurugram.

Over 50 police personnel were also present during this anti-encroachment operation.
