Gurugram, April 21 (NationPress) The Enforcement Wing of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) initiated a significant operation on Monday, issuing 72 notices to various offenders for illegal access permissions and constructions along the master roads of the Authority in Sectors 47, 49, 50, 51, and 57, according to officials.
The operation, overseen by GMDA District Town Planning (DTP) head R.S. Baath, focused on a 2.3-km stretch from Sohna Road to Mayfield Garden and another 2.3-km stretch along the Southern Peripheral Road, extending from Baani Square on Golf Course Road to Golf Course Extension Road.
A total of 48 notices were directed at property owners who had constructed unauthorized temporary structures, including khokhas, tin sheds, nurseries, and building material shops, within the 30-metre right of way (ROW) of GMDA.
Moreover, several instances of unauthorized access to GMDA master roads were addressed, resulting in 24 additional notices being issued for lacking the necessary access permissions.
The violators have been allotted a one-week deadline to remove their encroachments and apply for access permissions from GMDA for the ROW.
"Our aim is to inform all owners about the necessity of obtaining direct access permissions from GMDA for their establishments located on master roads. There will be a zero tolerance policy for those who create unauthorized access points on GMDA ROW. Furthermore, due to heavy traffic in these particular areas, GMDA will also explore the implementation of service roads to enhance traffic flow," Batth stated.
Previously, the Enforcement Wing had visited these regions, instructing all offenders to remove encroachments and cease any illegal access on GMDA roads.
As part of the ongoing effort, notices were issued on Monday to offenders, with strict actions planned against those who fail to comply with the regulations.
