Ahmedabad, Nov 12 (NationPress) In light of the current security landscape, Director General of Police (DGP) Vikas Sahay led an essential meeting via video conference from Police Bhavan with unit heads, city police commissioners, and district police leaders throughout Gujarat.

The discussion was centered around enhancing readiness to avert potential incidents and ensuring increased vigilance statewide.

DGP Sahay highlighted the necessity to bolster the infrastructure of all operational units, including the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), and evaluated the performance of Special Operations Groups (SOGs) in each district.

He instructed officials to keep detailed records across 30 critical parameters and to continuously monitor individuals linked to serious crimes under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA), NDPS Act, Arms Act, Explosives Act, and cases regarding Fake Indian Currency.

DGP Sahay also underlined that not just specialized units like the SOG, but local police forces must maintain their human intelligence networks and keep a vigilant eye on any suspicious activities or movements related to terrorism.

Senior officers, including the ADGP and DIG of ATS, along with the DIG of the State Intelligence Bureau, participated in the meeting.

Through video conferencing, unit heads, city police commissioners, and district superintendents of police engaged in discussions, reaffirming the Gujarat Police's dedication to proactive intelligence operations and strong anti-terror measures.

CCTV footage of the explosion caused by a slow-moving vehicle near Delhi's Red Fort emerged on Wednesday, coinciding with the National Investigation Agency's (NIA) initiation of an investigation into the terror attack that has so far claimed nine lives.

The 15-second clip shows a crowded area near the Red Fort Metro station, with vehicles moving slowly before a large fireball erupts, reportedly from an i20 car identified as the explosion's source.

According to footage from the city's CCTV control room, the blast occurred at 6:50 p.m. on Monday, engulfing several cars in flames and causing widespread panic in the vicinity.
