Gurugram, April 12 (NationPress) The Traffic Police of Gurugram initiated a targeted campaign in March aimed at reducing violations related to tinted car windows, as stated by an official on Saturday.
According to the official, this initiative resulted in the issuance of 754 challans, totaling Rs 75.40 lakh.
“The primary goal is to enhance road safety and minimize accidents in Gurugram. Some riders operate motorcycles without license plates and engage in triple riding, while others have black film on their windows, which facilitates criminal activities,” remarked Virender Vij, DCP (Traffic).
This special challan initiative aims to mitigate various forms of traffic violations.
“We urge the public to adhere to traffic regulations by ensuring that only two individuals ride on a two-wheeler, wearing helmets, avoiding wrong-way driving, abstaining from substances while driving, not using mobile phones while behind the wheel, and not employing black films in vehicles, as well as refraining from triple riding,” he emphasized.
Virender Vij, DCP (Traffic), highlighted the importance of following traffic rules and being responsible citizens.
“Such challan campaigns will persist in the future, organized by the Gurugram Traffic Police,” he assured.
Additionally, the Gurugram Traffic Police issued Rs 68.85 lakh worth of fines against 1,372 violators for mobile phone usage while driving during March.
They also penalized 53,215 helmetless drivers with fines totaling Rs 5.32 crore in March.
“Of the total fines issued, 33,265 were against pillion riders, amounting to Rs 3.32 crore,” he stated.
Virender Vij, DCP (Traffic), reiterated that the Gurugram Traffic Police's main objective is to facilitate safe and organized travel.
“To maintain smooth traffic flow, Gurugram Police actively enforces traffic regulations against violators,” he concluded.
