Gwalior, March 27 (NationPress) A tragic incident unfolded early Friday morning when five members of a single family were killed, and five others, including an autorickshaw driver, suffered critical injuries after a speeding Mahindra Scorpio collided with their overloaded three-wheeler in the Thatipur locality of Gwalior.
The accident took place around 3 AM near the Jain temple at the Parshuram intersection. The family, which comprised nine members, was returning home after offering prayers at the Sheetla Mata temple near the bus stand when the SUV crashed into their vehicle.
The force of the collision was so intense that the autorickshaw became airborne for a brief moment before slamming into a neem tree, leaving passengers with minimal opportunity to escape.
The deceased have been identified as Shubham, also known as Lali (30), son of Mahesh Shakya; his wife Shagun; Indrajit, also referred to as Pappu Shakya (55), Shubham’s paternal uncle; Leela (52), Indrajit’s wife; and Preeti (60), Shubham’s mother-in-law from Meerut.
