Haryana Chief Secretary Encourages State-Level Trade Fairs with International Collaboration

Chandigarh, Dec 17 (NationPress) Haryana Chief Secretary Vivek Joshi on Tuesday instructed the Trade Fair Authority of Haryana (TFAH) to investigate possibilities for hosting trade fairs at the state level in partnership with foreign nations, with backing from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
These trade fairs are intended to highlight the cuisine, culture, and products of collaborating countries, in addition to showcasing goods produced by the local industries of the state.
During the 35th governing body meeting of the HTFA, Joshi, who also holds the position of Chairman of the Trade Fair Authority of Haryana, underscored the necessity to enhance local industries.
He instructed his team to formulate a detailed strategy for executing district-level trade fairs, aiming to provide vital platforms for local artisans and merchants to display and sell their offerings.
Joshi also highlighted the significance of leveraging these events to promote various central and state government initiatives, ensuring that the public is informed of their advantages. He tasked officials with delivering a thorough report on the revenue generated, job opportunities created, and attendance recorded at these trade fairs.
Applauding the dedication of the officials, Joshi congratulated the team on Haryana’s outstanding performance at the recently concluded India International Trade Fair -- 2024 in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, where the state pavilion achieved a bronze medal.
In attendance were Additional Chief Secretary (Finance and Planning) Anurag Rastogi; Principal Secretary, Haryana, (Industries and Commerce) D Suresh; Chief Administrator, Trade Fair Authority of Haryana, Shyamal Misra; Special Secretary, (Industries and Commerce) Yash Garg; Administrator, Trade Fair Authority of Haryana, Vinay Pratap Singh; Additional Director (Administration) of the Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture, Varsha Khangwal, and several other senior officials were present at the gathering.
