Chandigarh, March 19 (NationPress) The State Level Sanctioning Committee, functioning under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY), has officially sanctioned a detailed annual action plan of Rs 1,122 crore for the fiscal year 2026-27. This initiative aims to bolster agriculture and its allied sectors in Haryana.
This decision was made during a meeting led by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, where officials from the Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Department, along with various implementing agencies, evaluated the progress of current schemes and finalized the action plan.
The Chief Secretary highlighted the importance of efficient execution, timely fund allocation, and inter-departmental coordination to ensure that these schemes effectively benefit farmers at the grassroots level.
During the meeting, the committee assessed the operational status of the PM-RKVY, Krishonnati Yojana, and the National Mission on Natural Farming.
It was reported that in the fiscal year 2025-26, the Government of India disbursed Rs 318.17 crore as the first instalment across various components of PM-RKVY, with Rs 240.46 crore already utilized, resulting in a utilization rate exceeding 75 percent.
The committee was informed that for the fiscal year 2026-27, the Government of India has allocated a central share of Rs 545.53 crore to the state under PM-RKVY, while the Haryana government will contribute Rs 363.69 crore, bringing the total budget to Rs 909.22 crore.
Officials indicated that the action plan's objectives include boosting agricultural productivity, promoting sustainable farming practices, enhancing irrigation efficiency, and fortifying agricultural infrastructure.
A substantial portion of the budget has been dedicated to agricultural mechanization and crop residue management, which are key priorities for the state.
Under the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanisation, an allocation of Rs 200 crore has been approved to assist farmers in acquiring modern agricultural machinery.
Furthermore, Rs 250 crore has been earmarked for crop residue management initiatives, which includes funding for machinery and awareness campaigns aimed at promoting in-situ management of crop residues and minimizing stubble burning.
The committee also endorsed initiatives designed to diversify agriculture and foster sustainable farming practices.
An allocation of Rs 110 crore has been sanctioned under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture to enhance horticulture activities, develop post-harvest infrastructure, and improve marketing facilities.
To encourage efficient water usage in agriculture, Rs 160 crore has been designated under the Per Drop More Crop initiative, while Rs 15 crore will support the promotion of natural farming practices in the state.
